Hailing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Hunter “Showtime” Bauer has been racing since he was old enough to swing his leg over a bike.
He made short work of progressing through the ranks in Canada and has shown exceptional skill throughout. From his first Flat Track Canada National Championship race in 2012 at age seven through competing in intermediate in 2018, he progressed a class a year and won the championship each season, aside from a runner-up placement in 2017. Bauer was also named Most Promising Rider in 2016.
In his 2019 Canadian Pro debut at the minimum-required age of 15, he was named Rookie of the Year and ranked fourth in the Flat Track Canada National Championship. With no 2020 Canadian National series due to COVID-19 and still too young to race Progressive AFT, he was unable to compete professionally for a season.
Bauer made up for lost time in 2021, flashing impressive speed in his Progressive AFT rookie campaign, most notably when he earned a top-five finish in the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles Main Event at the OKC Mile II.
He took his game up another level in ‘22, finishing just three points outside the championship top ten while scoring his first Progressive AFT podium with a third-place finish at the New York Short Track.
Bauer continued his strong form in ‘23, notching up a pair of top ten finishes.
